Where did you get yours on ASC or retail?

They don't actually rock harder, they just have newer internal electronics. Even crisper trigger control, voltage cut off, and the new motor. Unfortunately, the new motor has been a bit of a bust. Hard to say that they will be worth the extra $500+ dollars on the already high price tag, but the new electronics mean that you can probably get away with using non-Systema batteries, hopefully.

As for getting it, look for the best deal I guess. I got mine with taxes, shipped, etc. for $2274.56. Not a great deal, but this was before the dollar going so high. Never get a kit, enough people have complained about them to scare me away, but whatever, get what you can get the cheapest.

Bah, the '08 PTW is no real improvement, not enough to warrant the extra money. You get new electronics, yes, but there's really nothing wrong with the old electronics. The mechanics of the gun are exactly the same, except for the motor and trigger spring. But, the 490 seems to be a bit of a fussy motor. The 480 is rock-solid, no need to change it, in my opinion.

Currently, you can get an '08 for the price of this years model, but only until January. Then expect to pay alot more for them, eprhaps as high as $1800 U.S. or about $3000 here.

Expect to see some aftermarket parts by next year. Looks like PDI will be making inner barrels for the PTW. Hopefully they do them in 6.01mm.

There was one I kept for more than a year and it was ICS M4, oh god how hated the hop-up but loved options of being semi-ptw look alike.

Other than that I'll give this MG36 a try after I upgraded it then I'll sell it and save the money for PTW.
