| (Damn I need a DSLR) I finally got most of my parts together. Lots of tweeking to do (paint match CASV, new buffer setup, fool around with accessories) but I am quite happy with the design. M4 length inner on a PTW CQBR outer, suppressor hiding the extra barrel length. Tons of mags and batteries, cylinders to let me fool around in lots of different fields, I think I finally have something that I reasonably like. With that said, I now have 3 other guns that need good homes... -Doug | |

| Holy Magazines, Batman!!
Do you pack all 13 at once? It's gonna give you a bad back, hehehe.
I have noticed over the course of the past year how hard those mags are on quality gear. I have Drop Zone pouches on 2 of my rigs that are made with 1000d Cordura, and the PTW mags have worn almost through on the corners of some of them. I think it's the weight + the sharp edges on the mag itself. With the rahnger plates on them, this should stop that.
I only have 9 mags total, and usually pack between 7 and 9 depending on the game.
Now you need to get a CNC'd lower, as they are available now at a cost of $550 U.S. plus shipping.
I saw an ARMS #40 for sale on CGN not long ago. if your lookinf for a good BUIS.
So, the big question remains, how much have you used it outdoors and what are your impressions on performance so far?

| Yeah, the ranger plates are nice (L-plates are cool too), but you are right, the gear takes a beating from mags. Having grown up on the west coast, packing lots of weight over rough terrain has never been a problem (13 mags, pish, but I think you are right, especially for the fast CQB). That is why most of my guns have been so big, but now I am seeing the truth about length and realized that size matters, only in reverse... I have been very happy with the performance. For the last sim game I only had a blue M110, so the range was fine but not as strong as I wanted. Accuracy was decent too but that 3 round burst really placed the shots where I needed them and needed them most. Other than that, I have been working straight in camp, violating Alberta labor laws to finish up for winter break. Now I am back and have free time, just getting things set up for the Feb CQB. Ha ha ha, I knew you would mention BUIS. I HATE iron sights. I can't use them to save my life. It is easier to walk my shots then use irons for me. In the dark, pointless again. I really should use them, but I have a horrible time get them zero'd in. Scopes and reflex sights work for me and since it is Airsoft, I never rely on them. RS may be a different story but my RS experience is limited, and mainly to sights. As for the lower, I didn't know that one was finshed, got a link? http://www.systema-europe.com/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1406&PN=1I must admit I am quite happy with the body quality on the PTW anyways. Is there a reason to up the body? -Doug | |

| The only reason would be because you can. Imagine if your used a CNC'd lower with a real upper. Your gun then physically should be as tough as the real one.
What weight/brand of BBs do you use, BTW?

| Have a pile of .28g's but just for cost and ease of use, sticking to the .25g Madbull BB's (I have 8x4000 .25g, urghhh). Maybe if the field limits go up a bit, I will invest in some heavier weight. How about yourself?

| I've been using Metal Tech 0.25s with very good success. Apparently, some folks have had issues with the Madbull BBs in PTWs. Iwill try some 0.28g Metal Tech when they get some in. | |

| Yep, I must admit, though it doesn't look great, I rather have the performance over looks. I think I need to make a better one though, maybe a hardcovered one of some sorts. Shame that the batteries are so huge and I don't trust Lipo, those buffertube batteries are a good idea.
