NIA-Basic Boot Camp Info Empty
PostSubject: NIA-Basic Boot Camp Info   NIA-Basic Boot Camp Info EmptyWed 21 Mar 2007, 6:57 pm

This info is to help understand and use Boot Camp training. The only way to use this info is to catch a boot camp or request one. Thanks to Nick, Joe, Geoff and others who helped putting these thoughts together.

Structure up to Platoons
Platoon-3 sections (24-30 players)-leader is Lieutenant; 2ic of platoon is warrant officer
Section-(8-10 players) - one designated as Section Commander(Sergeant); section 2ic is a master corporal
Group-2 fire teams (4 players)-sergeant takes one fire team and the master corporal takes the other
Fire team-(2 players)-

Rank
Lieutenant-gives orders to platoon 2ic
Platoon 2ic- gives orders to the 3 section commanders
Section Commander-gives orders to anyone below their rank
Section 2ic-answers to section commander and carries down order to any body lower rank than them

Spacing
-Depending on the terrain but you should be able to see your fire team partner at all times. Watch your 2IC for spacing directions.
-open terrain 5-8meters
-wooden or hilly area-3-5 meters
-dense, dark or lots of cover-2-3 meters

Formation Descriptions
Single File-Straight Line moving along it’s length.-facing each others backs and covering the opposite side of the person in front of you. Last man covers the 6.
Extended line-Straight line moving along it’s width (combing)-all facing forward
Arrow Head-assault on open fields-point person with Group making a V behind him
Ack-Ack- Staggered on each side of a path, road, river bed.

Communication in the field
-Hand signals are to be used when doing recce work or if the opposition force does not know your position yet.
-Once contact and firing has started yelling commands is a must
-Pass the message along, make sure that the hand signals are passed along and ensure that the man behind you receives the signal clearly
