all in all a good day of playing, we didnt have enough players to play the senario so we started at busters for a 3 on 4 two hour skirmish. then we moved on the kurts place for some C.Q.B. games.

just out of curiosity did this game count as a club game or private?

Based on the three criteria Horton Laid Out:
-Must be Run by a leader in the Area
-Must Have 5 people Min.
-Safety Standards Must be upheld

He also said that they must be run by a Sergeant or better, so it would seem that this was a private game.

Doesn't really matter to me, rank game or not as long as we get out there.

I don't think you should bend the rules, the game and player attendance should have to meet the club criteria.

In my opinion it shouldn't be considered a ranked game, We played for a while at busters and then went to my house of some cqb games, it seemed more like a private game to me. Just my 2 cents.

most of my 20 some games were just thrown together days at the boneyard... I really want to change the way we do ranks to something different. Any suggestions?

stuff like bootcamps, milsims, respect of game rules, number of games should count for a small portion of rank, how well you play and accomplishment of game goals should affect rank.

I am going to count this game seeing at the official rules just say there needs to be a recognized leader from the NIA there and Gryph fits that bill.

Right now rank is solely based on participation, which is a good system except it means nothing other than that.
Up in Mackenzie we have a separate ranking system. This system is solely based on leadership qualities, and respect for chain of command. Leadership qualities include things such as knowing and being able to use communication symbols, stategic combat formations and manuevers, and the ability to make decisions on the spot, and not second guess yourself. Also, a good leader does just that, leads, from the front, not from the middle where he is safe, except for in the case of having scouts and so on.

I would think that a higher player count should be a bare min. for being qualified as a club game. I don't think that 7 guys should count since our club numbers have risen. The only reason I am stating that is according to these rules all our games back in the early days should have counted then. All of our 'private' games should count. So atleast a bare min. of 10 or 12...

Well if you are going to up it to 10-12 people, you really have to start coming to Mackenzie games cuz we dont have that many airsofters here which would make none of our games count. We are working with about a tenth of the population base, it is harder for us to rally people here.

I was there, but I didn't run the game Kilswitch did. And all we did was have a small skermish in an area the size of my back yard. It was run and played like a private game so I think this one should count as a private game. I also don't think this is the best place to be arguing about what qualifys as a private or club game. If we are going to argue about that we should start a new thread.
