Hey my name is Ryan Isabelle and i am new to airsoft. I have a background in paintball but with no more of my friends in it i thought i would give this a shot. I was at the game last weekend and had alot of fun. I have been looking at alot of different guns but since i am new to the sport i am kinda lost with what to look for, any info on what to look for and what to stay away from would help.

Hey Ryan.Smile

Since you're over 18, I'd suggest making an account at http://airsoftcanada.com/ and getting age verified by Horton. Then you can have a look at the used guns for sale.
Look for a good solid AEG for your first first gun, other than that it's all up to personal preference.

these are decent guns. I highly recomend the G36c but there are better deals on airsoftcanada. Start an account on ASC and I will get you verified to purchase guns. I would stear clear of anything M4/m16 if you want to play in the winter as the version 2 gear box doesn't do well in the cold. The G36 has a V3 gearbox and will do fine.

The V2 gear box works fine if you get a quality gun, ie. non-clone. Just as a V3 will seize up on semi unless you get something of quality. In both cases, any upgrading solves these issues.

Best to buy what you like and what offers the best possibilities for expansion. Winner by far are armalites, then AK's, then G36's, everything else is really hard to get anything cool for. Mags are also the same case with armalites having the best deals, then AK's, then G36, then Sig 55x's.

In Airsoft, you really do get what you pay for, except in the case of TM vs. JG. Elsewise, stay clear of cheap clones that are non-JG. If you are not budget minded, you can spend upwards of $3000 on a gun, as with paintbal, eh!
