| ultimate noob moment. (hate myself moment) i popped the pin out like you guys suggested. the gun didn't come apart. now my thinking was since that wasn't making it pivot i needed to take another pin out somewhere else. now i knew that the pin on the front of the housing was the pivot pin but i figure if i took that out i could just separate the whole gun and get a better look at it. well that wasn't the case the gun just slide back and forth. kinda dumb, so i tried putting the front pin back in. long story short. those metal pins are stronger then the clear plastic housing. my list of things to fix is increasing by the minute! can i get a hand from someone who knows what they're doing? its really frustrating.
I need a new housing, i can get that pretty soon, i just need a hand getting it on there. and the safety switch needs to put back on, but i could just as easily order a metal one and put it on when i put the new housing on.

| There is a G+G supplier in Kelowna, here is a link to the site, http://www.mtmfg.ca/department/airsoft-10133.cfm?killnav=1 although he does not list the replacement receivers on the site he may be able to order them. This is a link to mechbox.com for the m4's, I don't know if its exactly like yours but might offer guidance to getting into it. http://www.mechbox.com/m4m16Honestly if you really don't NEED to take your gun apart I wouldn't suggest doing it, sometimes can be a can of worms that will just get worse or at least till you can find someone that has some experience. Myself I had to take mine apart, and there wasn't anyone that could help locally but it was completely dead. Now I've ripped mine apart several times and am quite confident to put it back together. But if it was still working like yours, maybe just leave it for now till your parts at least come in. Here's a link for a new selector switch with spring if u lost yours. http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_87&products_id=427This is another G+G supplier that u may get a new receiver from. http://www.mach1airsoft.com/web/parts_accessories.phpHope that helps. | |

| Wait... I'm confused when you say housing... are you meaning the body of your gun? If you need a new body go to www.airsoftcanada.com and check out the Classifieds (accessories)... I think you can view them if you are not age verified... Any brand plastic body (minus ICS) will git a G&G. My plate is a little full with regards to Doctor duties, but throw me a PM with more details and I will try to help you out. | |

| Take a look on ASC in the classifieds, there are metal bodies there for around $80-150 for cheap china ones, and anywhere from $150-300 for high quality ones. If you are not too worried about money check out the ones on www.airsoftparts.ca. The higher quality ones will guarantee better fit, and will require less work to get them to work properlly. Remember, you can't order metal bodies internationally. | |

| No prob. Not 100% positive it will be perfectly compatible, some google research would verify it for you, but I'm pretty sure the parts will cross over. | |

| What I hate is the DBoys going for $175 in Canada, and a mere $27 (US) from a Hong Kong retailer. | |

| i hate how you cant get the lower reciever across the border lol. too bad these guns are SO real that people can use the lower recievers of airsoft guns to help make real guns not fair. | |

I don't belive that to be true simply because even the "metal" airsoft receivers I've seen are made of pot metal, a type of metal that is not steel and would easily blow apart from the stress of a real fire arm. Although I've seen ads about actual receivers being used for airsoft, I don't think they can. IMHO anyway.

but we can't get our metal receivers across the boarder right? If you order a metal receiver it will be seized at the border. but if you have a "restricted weapons import license" you can bring them in, but it's still a lot of grief. Save yourself the grief and get one that's already in country. As for being a newb, don't worry, we were all there and if you don't ask questions you will never learn. I do a lot of reading from many sources and think I have a pretty good handle on things but sometime draw wrong conclusions.

| Real uppers are common among systema owners, as they are made to the real specs; however, it takes some work to fit. Lowers are a different story, but I do believe there have been a few guys who have done it successfully... I could be wrong. | |

| Kind of crazy how much people will spend... especially just for an airsoft gun that is just barely out performs others (sorry macguyver, I just had to just get a stab in, wish I had the money to dump into both the real and airsoft) | |
