| Just a thought, I guess that's the whole point of this site. We are getting some folks who are more into certian looks and specialty gun, wondering if we should offer a list of minimums for people to be able to play that role. Such as...
Medic- Supply own flagging tape (used for heals) Have vest or pack with pouches
Sniper- Have a scoped gun Weapon must shoot over 350fps (.2g)
Support Gunner- Have a box mag Use a long rifle (M16, G3-SG1, AK-47 etc)
Grunts Using more than 2 mags Using Assult rifle or Sub-machine gun Pants, Jacket, Hat BDU Carry at least 2 grenades(tennis balls) at a time
you get the idea. These are pretty low standards but it'll help put people into roles but their gear and guns. Just a thought.

| Anyone with darker gear, like myself, and sub-machine guns, could act as recon/special forces...? | |

| lol this one is good !! S/F job has nothing to do with gear/weapon First you'd be the best grunt around, then move to a special team (like reco, airborne etc) then you can try selection for sf. If I remember you're in black gear right ? so you'll have to wait for a CQB place where we can play SWAT But we can include a reco or scout speciality : light gear and weapons, efficiant (sp?) camo and first of all good technique. The way I see it for airsoft : a fire team of 2, scouting then reporting, drawing a map (paper or sandbox) of ENI position, access, covert, infiltration and exfil path etc... Usually scouts act as "the devil advocate" meaning when the team leader explain his tactic they will try to act like the ENI and explain why this tactic isn't good (based on what they saw). When Scouts and team leader are agree, that's a GO. Good candidate for this will be a "bushman" (hunter?) with good navigation skills, fast but patient, quiet, able to draw a map on paper and on a sandbox, good tactical knowledge. Light equipment and weapons (no bodyarmor, helmet or bulky loading vest) Interesting job for long milsim. | |

| some of these are a little to specific. I'm not talking about really speciality positions but some standard so we can dress for roles and call each other by these titles for longer private and public games. Saying something like "we need a team of two grunts and a support gunner. Medic will will stay at the base while the sniper/scout team locates machine gun nest on road" Instead of "Dave and Ted will go with Helen and wait for Chucks call. When Chuck finds the position he'll call it in and join Wilber as a three man team." Hmm maybe a poor example. It would also be kind of fun to recognize the other teams unit. There is a scout team moving up the west side of the road. I also spotted a fire team hanging back by a car 1.5 kms back. Frag what are the basic explanantions/needs for different teams. Sniper- 1 sniper 1 spotter Scount team 2 grunts Assult/fire team 1 support 1 medic/grunt 2 additional grunts That way someone call call in and say "I need a fire team on my postion" and people will know if that pertians to them or not. Frag I'll see about picking up a Chef outfit for you. You can make us some freedom toast and freedom fries. While you are giving me a hair cut could you shave my back too? Maybe add it to the freedom fries for flavor. | |

| The way I see it for airsoft :
Assault team :
Grunt x2 x4 x6 Assault weapon (M4, G36...), armor, vest etc lots of low-cap, grenades... can include a medic
Scout x2 : light weapon (MP5...), light equipment, binocular, radio...
Support team :
Heawy gunner with its protective fire partner (machine gun with box) Marksman (guillie suit, precision rifle)with its protective fire partner (spotter) can include a medic
That's a minimum of 8, meaning mini 16 for a milisim...
an don't forget the Chef (me), light toque, heawy barelled fourk and butcher knife !
