this gun is cursed

The AK I got last winter must be cursed.

The motor went when my dad flooded the basement and it got wet.

Replaced the motor with a clasic army high torque motor

then a tooth stripped off the gears. replaced with a high troque hilical gear set and a new mad bull half toothed piston stripped the piston

replaced with a high torque gear set and a titanium piston now the piston is to long. the back of it hits the gear box before it is fully back. it's about 1 to 2 mm longer then the piston that was in there WTF?

Timing?

maybe you need a shorter piston head? Those pre-assembled systema gearboxs r starting to look pretty good eh?

Umm, is the spring too long maybe? compressing and stopping the piston from going back far enough? Probably explains why the other pistons stripped?

In trying to help u solve your gearbox woes, I found a guide that is really informative and posted it in the manual section, I hope someone stickies it. The amount of use full information is limitless.

No the piston is seriously too long. I compared it to the other piston I had and this one is longer behind the teeth by about 1 to 2 mm. It doesn't fit in the V2 or V3 gear box.

Oh that's crappy, there was a few posts mentioned about piston lengths combined with certain brands of heads and springs that resulted in combination's of setups that were too long.

Yeah i read a bit about that myself. A few guide recommend sticking to one brand for Piston and Piston Head configs, as well as Cylinder and Cylinder Heads to ensure everything fits.

Bill's already found the remedy in the guide, he short stroked the piston and took a couple of teeth off the gear that connects to the piston and ended up with a working combination the has an insane rate of fire.
