KJW m700 takedown Empty
PostSubject: KJW m700 takedown   KJW m700 takedown EmptyFri 10 Jul 2009, 5:53 pm

This KJW gas rifle was originally shooting very well, but after the second refill of fresh propane, even new mags have dropped fps to 300fps.

A friend says the Dave is the man to talk in regards to gas weapons...

Any Ideas?

Make sure your allen screw on the bolt is properly adjusted and not loose and falling out - this is the adjustment screw that changes the fps.

Other than that... you obviously have a leak or seal problem. And your friend must be wrong... Dave hates gas guns... NBB CO2 are exceptions!

Dave will not work on gas guns. Like beach said there is a screw in the bolt that lets you adjust the fps. there used to be a very good guide to do this, online.

ok....after much mucking about, it would appear that the striker spring has basically lost its temper.

Thank you for the 'tighten it down' help...sadly it was already tightened down...and this version has a set screw to keep it there.

What DID work was buffing the spring guide down significantly and then placing a spacer to increase spring tension, and voila! the potential of the gas mags are released once again...now I CAN back out the guide to control the power...am also looking at replacing the spring..redwolf has a power bolt and spring combo that might do the trick.

Thanks for the feedback folks!
