A staff discount of a friend got me this machine-pistol at a ridiculous price, however in PG one can regularly expect to pay $140 for this gun. I haven't found its price on a Canadian website.
The manufacturer's selling points are:-350 FPS
-Full or semi auto modes
-1000 RPM (16 shots per second)
-50 BB magazine capacity
-CO2 powered
-Single action
-Metal barrel
-GBB action
-And good replication
Produced for Umarex in Japan the TF-11 is externally a pretty accurate replica of the Mac-11, except for the magazine which is widened at the bottom with a knob to accommodate the CO2 cartridge.
It feels good in my hand, although the Mac-11 style grip is far from ergonomic.
With the magazine in the gun it is well balanced and comfortable to aim.
Which brings me to aiming, it can be difficult with the crude iron sight, but its possible. (It shoots a little to the right)
The fire rate selector is on the side of the receiver and is simple, although after re-assembling the gun it needs to be forced out of full-auto mode.
The report and recoil are quite satisfying!
The safety, beside the trigger guard is difficult to move, but does its job.
With one CO2 cartridge I was able to fire one mag in bursts of full auto, and one mag semi (in roughly 0 degree weather).
At the last indoor game the gun was chronoed, it shot
350fps like the package said. However it was shooting
1260rpm (21 shots/second) which is roughly the same as its real-steel twin, and well over what is advertized on the package.
I got one or two kills with it, but I'll have to find a different holster configuration because its' hard to whip it out when its strapped to my back.
I attempted to build a silencer for it, having done so for paintball guns in the past with much success, I expected it to work. It seems that there is so much excess gas being relesed that its not possible to hush this thing up with just a can. I'm going to look into turning the velocity down somehow.
PROS:-Price
-Looks sexy
-Firing rate
-Compatible with Maruzen green gas mags
-High capacity side-arm
CONS:-CO2 expense
-Sticky safety
-No accessories available (Maruzen stocks?)
-Plastic receiver
