| I know I've said it at the games often, but i am SICK of run and gun all night. My first airsoft game with NIA i was 15 back at the kinsmen center, now if a 15 year old with my mental capacity can EASILY grasp crackshack I see no reason why ~20 grown men/women can't grasp any of our basic RP style scenarios, and come on they are not THAT complex. IIRC the last time we did anything but speedball with various wall setups was spring 2011 *not counting outdoor* now what really drew me into airsoft was our scenario and that we did not just run around shooting each other like ANY paintball field. |

| I first say, if you have something you want to do the only thing holding you back from doing it is you. You are welcome to host and I really mean this as inviting as I can, the Internet just makes me sound angry when I write hahah
I stay away from the role play stuff simply because I find it to be way less fun. More arguing and complaining as some role play well and others don't care to think their role through and just want to shoot everything.
I run what I enjoy doing and have found works with the numbers we have. I have found when there are 18+ players that we stand around and debate to much about what kind of game to run with scenario stuff and making tonnes of limiting rules to make it work.
Nics CQC training day taught me some great indoor pointers but it really proved something else to me. In order for those tactics to work the police team has to have the element of surprise and flashbangs. We tried a few different things to give the element of surprise but there was always someone who was just sitting there with a gun pointed at a door. We tried flashbangs a few times but they really required the person on the receiving end to play it up in order for them to work.
It also showed that we suck, swat teams practice and train an obscene amount of time with a small group. When we tried using his tactics it just showed that our basic skills are not there enough to use swat tactics effectively. Its fun to pretend but it also got really old really fast for me to see how bad we were and how much time it was going to take to get better at it.
Scenarios take more time and effort to organize and often just fall apart, when there are 20+ players I want to play...as much as possible... with as many welts as possible! My playing style is move lots and get killed lots and I love the running games.
That being said I love the hotel set-up. Fast quick rooms with unknowns each time you stack up.

| alright i see your point. I more posted this cause since December it seemed that every time i suggested doing something more complex the answer was always "there's too many new people" I just thought it seemed like a bit of a fail reason since last i checked going to airsoft games does not raise your ability to understand instruction. |

| Very well said Dave and I agree 100%. With our way of setting up/hosting games, if something is not to your flavor, "you" host the next one. You don't like people using full auto all night, good, your game you can have everyone on semi. You don't like night games, good, your game you can have all the lights on. Not gonna go into a huge debate, but with 25+ people to draw on, we have that many people who can take a chance at hosting and have that many more new and interesting ideas on the games | |

| In general I like the wide open outdoor games better, as a scenario is just that much easier to pull off. I gotta say though, I sure enjoyed the village last nite. Sometimes it just feels good to pull the trigger...lots. Thanks Dave! If there is enough appetite for a role playing game, I have one written for ~20 players. Be warned...there is a LOT less shooting involved, but if every one gets into character, there should be some problem solving and lots of anxiety. Of course, role games are also generally complex, so if a key role is played wrong, the whole thing kind of just fizzles. My fear of this is that newer-ish players get bored and turned off.

| Colin your pretty full of complaints but not of solutions do you want to run games? if so go right ahead, this is airsoft not larfing with guns, I tried role playing games...the teams just start shooting no matter what 30 seconds in. | |

| I prefer the outdoor fields as well for scenario type games. But that's also the style of game I play. I like to stalk through the bush and get those sneaky ambush type kills where camo and stealth can actually come into play. Indoors I prefer pistols only games as the full auto AEG's make the indoor games a bit too chaotic for my liking. Every scenario seems to turn into run and gun and there's bb's flying every which way. | |

Jordan.... you can't even spell my name correctly, its right there next to my posts.......... beyond that am i not allowed to give suggestions? Why don't you F*** off and realize that i'm not complaining about how the games are run, i was complaining about the reasons for the way they were run, i perfectly accept what people are saying on this forum, why no one said that at the games is beyond me. Basically my first post was invalidated by my second one (quote from learning to use forums) "READ THE ENTIRE THREAD BEFORE YOU POST" 1 thing i did like about our CQC "training" was it got everyone moving (even tho yes we all sucked), the village setup was alot of fun last night but 1 thing i did notice was no one really went into hostile buildings that much, more ran around and shot through windows/doorways *not that there is anything wrong with that* |

| K well I'm kinda new and I have to agree with Dave on this one and u hav to respect that is up to the host and the mijority of the players as well. And if u start playing more complicated scenario games it is easier to get in debates about rules so as stuff gets more complicated it's easier for things to go wrong . And I'm not trying to start any debates or fights | |

| Woah guys... Remember, sometimes things come accross a bit harsher over the 'net because we can't see/hear the other persons expressions...
Now, I don't know exactly what everyones intentions are/were.... But I think it is safe to assume that Nilloc was just trying to say that he would like to see some RP'ing games if people were willing to run them.
I could understand it if running the game is a bit stressfull (coming up with game types that people will like, etc), and that having someone make the same suggestion often can be a bit frustrating... But really, if someone doesn't feel up to running a game, then in the end its not up to them what sort of games will be played.
But that being said, I think that hearing what everyone would like to do is important, as it is what makes us a group. And without that sharing of opinions, we would probably not play nearly as many games. Maybe whoever hosts could try to work a little bit of roles for team members into a few games? Sortof like the medic stuff, but perhaps with "demolitions experts" that needs to be escorted to the other side?
In my opinion, I think that it might work to have some serious RP'ing games as long as everyone that came out understood that they need to be a good sport and that the game wouldn't be about shooting as much as about teamwork, and the scenario.

| I have even had the thought that the masses play from 8:30-11 then those who want to role play more could play from 11-1. The times could be changed to give more for either side but splitting the night up is another option.
Like Ben is saying as long as the people coming know then it should be fine...and as long as there are enough to do the clean-up/
