| lame... more arguement about guns, blah blah blah. Psycho's are psycho's, they will find any means to be evil, be it guns, explosives, or a bulldozer...
My sympathy to the families. We need more services to deal with mental health, both Canada and US.

| I think we have the services. The problem is people need to make them aware of individuals ready to snap... | |

| We don't have the services. Mental institutes province wide have been shutdown in favor of "home" care. Of course, most of those people are unable to recieve home care due to families being unable to care for them.
Like viewed at the gunshow. The guy muttering about killing people was with a family member caring for him. That said family member brought him to a gun show...
You are right though, more effort needs to be taken to help individuals in these situations.

| Part of the problem is knowing who needs help. there is a lot of bullying going on in schools. There always has been and there always will be. Some people can handle it others can not and some are just pushed past the edge while others watch on. | |

| I can see bullying being a problem in grade school, but College or University? Depression and suicide are pretty common in College or University but I think most people have grown up by the time they get there. Maybe some hazing or something in a fraternity or maybe you're not part of the "in" crowd, but I can't see bullying being a major factor. Not enough to go on a killing rampage anyway. Most of the people he killed he probably didn't even know. Not to mention that most College/University students are nerds anyway! | |

| Wahhhhh, you are bullying me!!!
Seriously though, racism and bullying is very prevalent in American colleges. Rich parents pay their kids way through so there is no need to study and lots of time to go around being dicks. Unfortunately, I found university was not a place full of people growing up and maturing but a place for people to become furtherly socially stunted and maladjusted. Mind you, I am talking northern university with no school events or spirit, so yeah... VT seemed to have a lot more cohesive school spirit than most schools I have seen. Get involved in school events, meet some people, and party for 3 day stretches. You may not graduate with a great degree, or have some fancy scholarship, but you will have met people that you will be friends with for the rest of your life.
Me, I was too busy doing other "stuff" to be bullied or bully. But I have been jumped in PG by white trash on more than one occasion.
On the same note, has anyone seen his photos that he sent to NBC? This was not a rash event, he knew damn well what he was doing. Very premeditated....
