i've tried several times to see if they can get 8.4V batts in there, but no luck. If you have influence though... I've bought small and large connectors there and made my own large>small adapters, as well as a hugo 9.6batt. Speaking of which, I've still got a dozen 'c' size Sanyo NiCd cells.

| Got off early enough to make it to Summit Power Tools, (they close at 5, same as wayne) Thier hobby department has grown a lot, they stock battery packs and chargers an AC/DC charger was around $50. and the Deans plugs were $4 a pair. They had a lot of specialty packs too. and Pactra paint to paint palstics with, bout $7 a can. Batteries - 1500 mA/Hr NiCad $19.95 3700 MA/Hr NiMh I think $47 4200 mA/Hr NiMh $66.95 these are all sub-c sized battery packs and 6 cell 7.2v but he can get 7 cell 8.4 and 8 cell 9.6v packs as well. I also stopped to see Wayne(Company Quartermaster) and he said his order of Korean Ak's which looked a lot like the Kraken but with a lot more metal in it should be here in 2-3 weeks. Wayne also had some bb' grenades in stock (which looked really cool but instructions stated it only held 8 bb's?) and some new rifle cases and TAC vests in OD which looked awesome. | |

| these are the after shots after painting with Kylon Flat black. Removed everything from the body and painted the mag (not shown) and the body. I am really impressed so far as it really is a TM copy in everyway. I will do some gearbox work in the next week and give you more info as I go but so far it looks and feals great. Full metal front and now flat black body. $200 for this package from E&I is an awesome way to start. | |

| The ROF seemed slow but that could be the battery, 370fps springs, crappy bushings or over shimming. I might actually toss a set of good bushings in just to see what the ROF can be with a stock spring.
I really am impressed with the feal of this gun. It has the same wieght as a TM and more than 1/2 the gun is metal (upper reciever and entire front end). There are lots of metal bodies, wood kits and other mods that make it easy to turn it into whatever you want. I might have time tonight to tear it apart and give a better idea of what's in there.

| PIC FROM ASC Looked at the internals last night. Here are some thoughts in point form. -grease looked like vasaline -shimming was absent and plastic bushings has TONNES of play -stock TM spring is only shooting 260fps (hop-up off) -installed metal bushings and shimmed (ROF insane now) -Gear box closed allot tighter when the screws were put in and made shimming hard. -Shooting to the left, I think the front sight is off -Regreased, new bushings, shimmed and TM stock spring....the ultimate rental! | |

| Hmmm, a good fixer upper. How strong is the plastic in the tappet plate and piston seem to be?

| Tappet is soft but not weak
Piston had some wear but it did have a 370fps spring in it before. Seems to be tough.
I forgot to mention a ported piston head.

| I have to admit, I've been looking forward to fielding mine to see how it compares to my old TM. The faux wood kit makes it look so much better, I managed to pick mine up on ASC with a couple metal hicaps for $40. | |

| bad shimming was the answer. No damage at all, one of the gears was just barely catching then would slip and cause double feeds and the piston to release to early and ...welll just bad. After I shimmed it it has been gamed twice and run like a dream. I am still really impressed with this gun. | |

0 00 00 00 l cord Eh? R U talking about Summit Power tools? Brad at Practical Tactical has the proper batteries for most guns in stock that fit in airsoft guns. The batteries at Summit will work but in most cases you have to use an external battery pouch like I do, the advantage is it will never die during a game but realism suffers a bit.

| Not necessarily I kind of disagree with the whole "reality suffering bit". Using an external battery box is actually fairly common in the loadout of special forces. It is used in the M4 SOPMOD which has one right on the foregrip And btw, I research all this, it's not just coming from video games PS. the M4 in modern warefare 2 is awesome | |
