as many of you have learned, 6 canadian soldiers lost their lives on the line of duty just recently. Some of you have already met lance and know that he is in afghanistan right now.
Pte Lane Watkins was one of his close friends who was killed in the IED attack. I've met Watkins several times and he was one of the greatest guys you'll ever meet.
Private Lane Watkins was killed July 4 along with 5 other CF members and one Afghan interpreter, when the vehicle they were traveling in struck an improvised explosive device, approximately 20km south-west of Kandahar City. Pte Watkins was a member of 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia"s Canadian Light Infantry, 3 PPCLI, based out of Edmonton. (CP/HO/DND)
