| Imageshack is currently hosting around 30gb of my pics for forums and signatures etc. All 4 free. Been using it for bout 3 years now and they allow me to upload my pics full size, average image is 3.5 mb so if anyone wants to print them out they are the best quality. In the past photobucket had a 1mb file size limit so the pictures were barely 1.3 megapixal in quality and now I can upload 7.1 megapixal images to Imageshack with no problems. | |

| Okay, fair enough. I usually resize them anyways to make things a bit more 56k friendly as quite a few of our guys live out in the sticks, but its alright. I'll throw them in the photobucket account, as you seem to not want to.
On the other hand, does anyone else ever notice that there Dave is... umm different? Haha, what I mean is, ever notice that he's always doing someting umm goofy in his pictures? I bet that he's even got a huge grin going in the picture in our banner... Dave how was the game?? How many guys showed up? Did Doug's systema make any difference?

| Well since nobody else wants to give you a debrief, mine would be a little one sided. I was a little late but arrived b4 the game started. We split into two teams, Daes was the floater, (turncoat - swapped sides when he died) there were .... 6 per side? Anyway we had to construct bases at either and I was on the Blue team with Horton (Leader) We built an easily defendable base for Horton to sit in. (who got really bored.) and the rest of us engaged the enemy base. Moving slow to make sure nobody got by us we advanced on thier base. On the way there I shot =Daes= as the first kill for the game. Following this our red tean capped the midpoint flag and carried on an assult using 2 two man teams. Nearing the base Yuri and myself took and obscure path to their base and just b4 I broke over the hill to attack I tripped on a Claymore. Yuri remained near the base and continued to assult with Doug and Steve. awhile later I met Yuri walking back to the re-spawn with an advancing force, the next hour was spent defending the gravel pit and the attackers were repelled this nearing 3pm I had to run so I don't know if the outcome of the game. I got 2 kills, and died 3x(once by mousetrap claymore.) Now i'm busy building some motion activated mines that I can turn on and leave on the ground. | |

| Sorry, I finally got back in from the bus, that was a VERY long trip to get to the game and back but well worth it.
Anyways, the game aimed at trying some new ideas and rules.
1. Command structure. 2. Kill rags. 3. Use of base structure and HARD cover.
Victory condition was to eliminate the opposing commanding officer.
Since I was busy trying to get people to attack each other (not a turncoat btw), it was interesting to see the effective use of communications, binome deployment, and over-watch. Both teams made an effort to keep players to defend their leader but to also send out patrols and eventual assault forces.
Now the two bases were considerably different. One looked like Afghanistan, the other like WW2. Both had advantages and disadvantages. By far the most threatening base was the dug-in trench and sand-bag base of Team Blue over-looking a vast clear area and ridge. Nigh-immposible to attack with out a coordinated assault plan. Team Red of Afghanada was a different story. Though very hard to get close to attack the leader, the base was easy to pin down from the surround ledges and forrest that overlooked it. This lead to marksmen effectively pinning the Red's for quite an effective period of time. Mines also were a very effective tool deployed by the Blues, racking up at least 3 kills.
Now, for those who used the kill-rags they worked quite well, those who didn't, well, got shot up something. If people effectively use them, they really do make for an excellent visual indicator and nothing beats a big red cloth to simulate an injury!
In all, the testing of the ideas worked quite well. Further development for Command structure is needed, but Dave and I found it to be quite effective if used well, something is definitely there that should be looked at (COMMUNICATIONS IS THE KEY, wow!). Fast base construction was VERY impressive at the deployment of hard cover! It was quite amazing to see the work that went in, in such a short period of time. Finally, for those who used them, the kill rags really did work, there are quite a few left over for further games, or people can make there own 2'x2' cloth red markers.
I will let someone else tell the end of the story. I am happy with how things turned out and the testing of some new Sim ideas. Just a shame there were not more people, but there is always next time.
-Doug (And yeah, the PTW was a blast, 3-round burst really helps Airsofts lack of accuracy).

| Too bad you missed the end Nightwarrior. During the last hour or so of the milsim, I relieved Horton from his command position so he could get some action into the day. Sat in the command base for a good 45 minutes to an hour, while the ENTIRE red team set up an attack plan around the enemy base. Unfortunatly, before the plan could be enacted, blue team packing into a pickup and attacked our command base. I got a last minute warning from our strike teams to get out of the base and hide. Blue teams APC made two full passes around our base before I came out of hiding and opened up on the truck - nailed one target and was promptly put down by a burst or ten to the helmet from Chinese_gunman. You can roughly see impact residue from his rounds.... | |

| Yurrei, the game was over when they attacked. Red teams plan did work and the blue leader was killed. Blue just decided to have a little bit of after game fun and wipe out the base. Shame that Red radioed ahead and the base was empty sans one straggler... ha ha ha Yeah, sorry about the team switching Knight, with an uneven number of players and people just sitting at their bases, I felt that it was important to get people moving (as one of the organizers, Dave was also clear with it). Thankfully it got people moving and got the day underway. Tags are coming up momentarily, make sure to post your name down and I will pop up a list on the first post. And Frag, yeah, we really missed you. It would have balanced everything out perfectly. Oh well, at least there is more to come, eh? One very 3 months so far has been perfect. If we host 3 or 4 a year we can keep building up our props supply. Got kill rags and a flag so far, sand bags are also accumulating. -Doug | |

| Ha ha ha, yes indeed. That was rather hilarious. Thank goodness that you had a helmet, Chinese gun is definitely a field gun.
On the note of FPS and hop-ups, we should host a workshop or something sometime and show people how to upgrade, how to maintain, and how to adjust the hop-up for maximum performance. Shooting at the end of the day pit battle made it painfully obvious the lack of FPS and hop-up out there.

| Is it just me or does it look like we are a bunch of football players praying before the game. Internet is down at home. I'll post up pics/vids when I get it back. What a great day Doug, that rain had me scared when we first rolled out of town but Ness always gets different weather. Kudos to the boys from the North and their almost getting lost out there. I loved the command structure and if we host a large game agian with similiar game play I would love to see that used agian. Door prizes made me play a bit harder knowing I could win some stuff, thanks Doug. Very impressed with the red team ane their playing over the day. Took us a long time to get smith out of his hideout near our base but we finally got him! I honestly got no action in that base...two kills. By the time me and Ben W made our way behind the blue base we had to run just to see the truck drive away with all of our targets in it...BAH! Good to see patches on club members and everyone had full gear which really added allot in my mind. Not much for quaders and I remembered after that I forgot to call the police before the game...WHOOPS Overall a great day, could have used a few more players but that type of game seems to have great sucess. Hope everyone else had a good time. Does anyone else owe me money for anything??? | |

| All the Chetwynd/Moberly players had a great day, thanks for hosting guys. I would like to add a couple things from my conversation with Ryan and Chris on the car ride home. Apparently Ryan tripped 2 claymores without realizing what they were, so he/they should have been dead a couple times. In the future I recommend we cover claymore & grenade operation, rules & deployment better during the initial briefing to ensure that any noobs understand when they should be calling themselves hit by those devices. In this case it may have changed the outcome of the game as they effectively pulled our defences away from the direction where Doug was ambushing... when they should have been walking back to respawn. I had a great time and really enjoyed the added element of base building. I helped dig our fortifications and fill some sand bags then was sent out to establish an LP at the fork on the road. I had an enemy scout and then 4 enemy assaulters walk right below me and I was able to report positions back to our team leader. I then attempted to stalk a couple of them and pin them between our base defenders and myself. Unfortunately I was killed by FF from one of our own patrols returning to help out with base defense. I had a great time assaulting the enemy base and when my fellow assaulters were hit, I managed to set up a sniper position and pick off 3 more enemy players before they managed to locate and eliminate me. The flecktarn seemed to work quite well for this time of year as I was in plain sight several times and managed to stay still enough that I wasn't spotted. Unfortunately Dave didn't leave cover while I was in position and I had to make do with targets of opportunity. Kudos to the defenders who managed to flank me and take me out. Great game guys! | |

I would agree that we should have gone over all the rules a bit more at the beginning. I always assume that people have read and memorized the online rules...not everyone is as big a loser as I am though.

| Agreed with the rules. I didn't know that people were deploying the number of mines that were deployed. Land mines are a bit tricky but I assumed that if someone hits a string and hears a bang, it would be obvious. Live and learn. Thankfully people caught on quickly for most of the rules, because there were not too many to figure out. It is nice to keep the rule sets small, more there are, the more confusion. - twsmith wrote:

Very true, that last minute diversion greatly helped. Mind you, that 4x4 did a lot more as a distraction, I was 40 feet from Chinese when they started the assault and drew the remaining sentries attention away. It took 30 minutes to cover 200 feet to get close enough to that base. Horton, here is a link to a partial map, if you need it bigger, let me know.
