| Hey Guys, I talked to Wayne a little about this and we agreed that we should post something on team camo.
Now to my memory I believe we tore apart poor Rex for commenting on something about teams and unity... haha, anyways, as we grow more serious as a club and start to think about going off to play other teams ,we should put some thought to what we look like. I mean do we want to look like a bunch of terrorists? I know quite of few of us own Cadpat already and I think that's cool, but it's the rest of us, Flecktarn, woodland, british, tigerstrip I believe I saw in one picture.... Holland! haha, skateshoes/hoodie/jeans, that should start to think about buying or looking into getting gear that matchs. For the majority of our games it doesn't matter, but, for example your game next weekend, you guys having distinct teams and matching camo. Anyways, just something to think about, let me know what you guys think about this...
One of the reasons this was brought to my mind was I'm looking to get different camo and don't want to waste my money getting something and to only find out weeks later that as a team we're going to get something different.

| As a club we have decided that we are going to use pink spandex. I would suggest buying as much pink spandex as possible. If you are unable to wear pink spandex, you are a TERRORIST!!!!

| I would be up for canadian gear, digital edit (cadpat) is great stuff and it's more readily avialable then marpat. Flecktarn is the sweetness but hard to get and a little obscure. I wouldn't buy into the large blotchy camo like woodlands or DPM, just not my thing.

| The only drawback to cadpat is that many teams have already switched to it, we might want to look at selecting 2 sets. Especially if we plan on playing as a team against other organized clubs. Something we may also want to consider is multicam, so we could use it in different environments. | |

| In order to not be like everyone else, and we decide to wear cadpat, then we must buy CF(canadian forces) issue clothing and gear. i know that the surplus store here isn't great...*cough*...... but we can do a big order down to dave's surplus in New West. The owner knows me pretty well cuz i spend a sh!t load of money there....so he'll give us a discount...the more we buy...the better discount we'll get. another thing...we can all buy cf issue cadpat helmets...i know it'll be a bit on the pricey side but no other team has done that before. so we can wear cadpat, cf boots(old or new), cf helmet, and i guess any type of web gear (green or cadpat) like cadpat, many different teams are already using multicam...futhermore, multicam is the most expensive camo on the market at this point....about $120 for just the tunic. i know many people don't like this colour but the pocket system on this is outstanding. i'm refering to the US army's new Army Combat Uniform (ACU). here's a pic of it... i know its grey...so don't state the obvious | |

| one more thing....to make things cheaper for us...we can just wear Nato clothing. so whatever army is in Nato...then we can wear their camo.... here's a link to nato countries http://www.nato.int/structur/countries.htmanother thing is that we can be UN peacekeepers....so watever country is part of the un peacekeepers...u can wear that camo..we just have to wear blue helmets or blue berets with UN cap badges. | |

| I like that UN idea, it lets us use a lot of our existing camo, and will let me spend money on guns instead of gear. Where can we get the UN blue berets, and can we just get UN blue helmet covers? | |

| BUT IT'S GREY
just joking, so far the only country that isn't UN is Holland (sorry mike you're out of the club).
We are looking for camo patterns to wear right, so why are we talking about wearing blue "shoot me in the head now" caps? I would totally be up for wearing stuff so we kind of match , such as un or peace keeping stuff, but part of the point of buying the same stuff is so we can recongnize that camo really well in the bush from the other teams.

| So have we decided anything yet? I liked the UN idea, I need to get proper camo anyways, hence why I'm asking the question, it's so I don't end up having to buying something I can't use later on... | |

| The cheapest solution would be to go full uniform (UN country) camo vs. mix and match terrorist. I don't think we've really decided on a single camo pattern yet. We like the UN idea but it doesn't really help to have bright blue hats when we are trying to stay camoflaged. I think we may need to make a definitive decision re. which uniform we will wear for team play on our home field. If we are playing on the road and the team we are playing against has the same camo pattern as we do, we could play as terrorists and mix and match camo with civilian clothes and just make sure not to wear the same camo as the opposing team. I spoke with Shawn (SSP21) in Kamloops and he said they have several teams in Kelowna, some use CADPAT, some use Flecktarn and one uses Multicam. I'm pretty sure they have the same problem all over. If we want to play as a defined team on our road games we may need more than one set of camo each. Even if the second set is just "terrorist". I like my DPM so I'm going to stick with it for now. But I think wearing cargos and a camo jacket along with a balaclava will work fine for me for a "terrorist uniform." Especially if I'm using my AK. | |

| Hey Mike, if we're thinking insignas why don't you draw some up....we can think of going that way and just have mixed camo with our own club insigna! | |

| I had an idea for our camo problem. I don't know if it's realistic enough for you guys, but I'll throw it out anyways so you can decide amongst yourselfs. Why not base our groups' camo on class? For example - all my gear is black, which could constitute either a recon/black-ops class. We have a number of players, like Jeff, who have Cadpat, which would be considered soldier/support. And so on and so forth. I don't mind constructive critisism so let me know what you all think. | |

| That would be fine for our own games, but it doesn't really help for when we play against other teams. Both teams could have multiple classes with different gear which would make differentiating players from a distance even more difficult.
I think our best option is still military/law enforcement vs. terrorist/insurgent. That way our camo doesn't have to match exactly for the players with full gear, and those who can't afford, can't find, or don't want to buy full equipment can play with what they have.

| For the most part I agree with the UN stuff(minus the little hat things) and I mainly agree with what Wayne says but it still leaves me with the question of "IF" we go and play out of town we still need to be somewhat matching. I know a lot of teams just have the rule of Dark, or green color camo for teams, so we could just do something like that, but I just want to watch were my money is getting thrown around as I can't afford to drop a few hundred on a few sets of BDU's... | |

| It would be great to have the matching patches to have us match.
If we are going to pick 2 patterns to go with for gear I would vote Marpat and Cadpat. Digital has been proven in it's use, both are avialable but not as avialable as woodland or DPM. If anything I would also go for wooland and marpat. Woodland is cheap, really easy to find and does a good job as a camo. Marpat is great because it has a lot more brown than cadpat which makes it a great yearround camo while still holding it's own in the summer and green seasons.

| I think if I get another set it will be Marpat. My DPM is fine for green areas, but I could use something with more brown. | |

| I like the idea of Marpat and Cadpat, anyone know what kind of prices they go for and where we can get some the cheapest? I have no problem with woodland or DPM either if it means it's easier for people to get a hold of.... a litte more noob friendly I suppose... | |

| my final vote is Marpat and Wooland. I need a good excuse to buy a marpat set. The after market stuff looks really nice. Iclandic got his for fairly cheap and it's held up well. I know there is a bad supplier that when you wash them once they fade really badly but I can't remember what brand it was. | |

if u haven't seen ACU up close, the pocket system and design of the uniform is awesome.
p.s..... woodland is old news...time for the new uniforms
