okay upkeep on my newly acquired gun, oiling how and with what.
also painting it matte black with grey camo any hints?
Finally, a longer barrel and maybe a spring for increased speed and accuracy with a small red dot scope. then im leaving it alone for awhile, so can anyone point me in right direction

I assume that the oiling you are talking about is for your hop up, as your box is probably going to be just fine since Horton owned the gun. All you need to do is silicon oil (get the cleanest, purest kind you can get, airsoftparts.ca has a bunch for sale, its a bit more pricey, but worth while in the long run). Drop a few drops into your mag well, where the bb's enter the feeding tube, as well as down your barrel. Then give your barrel a good cleaning (with a cleaning rod), and then put at least a high cap's worth of bb's through your gun to ensure that all the oil is gone (otherwise the oil will effect the bb's trajectory)

As for painting, well its up to you. Check online for ideas, there are endless possibilities and tons of 'how tos'... uhh Camo Kylon paint dries fast and is a great paint. Pretty sure everyone could back me up on that one.

And as for upgrading, I think you are right to stay at stock for a few more games, get the feeling for it, and then upgrade. I suggest a tightbore and a longer barrel, if you want upped accuracy. And I hope by increased speed you mean fps and not ROF. But I would say stay below 350 fps so you can stay with your TM gears. And besides, more fps doesn't mean further range. Talk to Horton when you need the upgrade, he'll set you up with all you need... (ie. metal bushings, metal spring guide, and spring) that's all you need internally.

If you need help painting let me know. If your looking for true camo, I wouldn't recommend the gray and black, however if you just want a sweet paint job I have a few things you can look at that will give you some ideas and would be willing to help with the painting.

nice but pricey maybe that could be what my tax return goes to upgrading the gun

I thought of a way to make a mask to paint a digital camo scheme. This will take some work mind you, you'll need some of those clear sheets that they use for overhead projectors, some digital camo as a template a felt pen and finally an exacto knife. Simply copying the digital design one color at a time them cutting out what you've colored onto the clear sheets will give you a paint mask to work with . Then Most digital designs are 3-4 colors so you will end up with 3-4 clear sheets cut into masks.

so can a g36k ras kit fit with the g36c, because the only difference that I see is the carry handle/mount.
