| I get bored pretty easily on nightshift or weekend shifts and it seems like most boards have a thread for this. Why should we be any different? Since I occasionally have way too much free time at work, I figured I'd start us out. Check this video out, interesting and educational. http://www.glumbert.com/media/spiders | |

No doubt. I'm not complaining... the last time I whined that it was too quiet here we had a generator exciter blow up. We got the unit back on for a couple days and then on my next weekend dayshift it blew up again. Nope, no complaining here... I think I'll learn to live with the quiet times!

When it works, I love it! Still quits firing once in a while then if I hit the forward assist a few times it usually fires fine again. Something is screwed.

| Sounds like your gear timing might be off a bit... thankgoodness for that working forward assist button hey?
I can snap a pic or two of how to time your gears if you want. Its pretty easy.
The only reason I asked how you liked it is because I'm loving mine. I don't understand why people hate them so much. After learning boxes and stuff and the ICS has been awesome. I have no complaints here... well besides the their stupid design to attaching stocks...

Heh heh, tread jack. Yeah the only reason that I am doing this stuff is that I am up north without a shop. But hey, common, every engineer needs to be able to do mock-ups and design work. Just like my failed airsoft mini-gun, I had everything done up in CAD first before construction, of course, there is a big difference between what you have in your head, what you have on paper, and what actually gets finished. Yeah, I agree, ICS does offer some nice advantages and though their early history was shaky, they have really improved. Anyone know what this is all about, heard anything? http://www.icsbb.com/news/e_news_main.asp?id=90-Doug

| Are you referring to the 3rd gear cam? I've heard of weak tappet plates causing mis-feeds in high speed mechboxes, maybe it's supposed to reduce stress where the tappet plate sits against the cam? | |

| Alright, I think you have probably figured out how to properly time your gears, but here's a quick run through. It is basiclly the same as any other V2 box. Aline your sector gear (your top gear, the one with the knob sticking out, which comes in contact with the tappet plate) at about a 1 o'clock position. The tappet plate should come right behind the knob and slide into place without any (or very little movement backwards). One thing to make sure is that your anit-reversal latch is working. Using your fingers move the gears. Your sector gear should be moving counter-clockwise (well atleast in my picture), move it into the 1 o'clock position and then try to move it clockwise. It should move a bit, but not too much. That should be it with things inside your box although those ICS stock gears are garbage, and despite what everyone says, installing and using TM gears in a ICS is an easy operation. They have been much better than my ICS gears, and they sound much healthier as well. If it is still not feeding properlly check to make sure that your hop up is alligned. When I installed my RAS mine was way off and would double feed, misfeed and when it did work only shoot about 50 feet. So make sure that your hop up is feeding your mags straight and properlly. Who knows, I'm trying to give you lots of reading material for your shift, so let's hope its not a tappet plate, although that's a pretty easy fix too. | |

| I swapped the tappet plate with the one from my SRC. It didn't seem to make a difference, but I'm not sure the SRC one is 100% ICS compatible. To bad I can't bring it in for my nightshifts and work on it. I've brought mechboxes in, but I don't think management would be happy if they thought they saw me bringing an assault rifle to work. | |

| Haha, yah probably not. I know what your talking about though, my dorm banned guns off the hall, as some idiots bought craptasic ones from wal-mart and decided to shoot each other and others... ending up with a banning of airsoft guns. So I could only have my boxes with me... although, I did end up smuggling my guns in... haha
I checked out a PM Dave sent me, and the tappet plate is version specific, but we are talking about ICS and they do lack in the compatability department
