| Heh heh, Horton does rule. Jeez, this club would have never existed if it weren't for Dave. I guess all this venting, though not directed at Horton, does still sting there. I am sorry Dave, I didn't mean to come across bad. I really like the PG club and it is driving me nuts not being there to play. I ran a LARP club in Terrace for 3 years before settling in PG. The big difference was that start-up costs to play were only around $80. I still had a hell of a time getting people to make their own weapons and gear (Had 12-20 people a game). I lost over $600 in that club but the fun I had will live with me for the rest of my life. We can't expect everyone to be as passionate about their hobbies as some of us. I have sunk over $3000 in Airsoft so far, some of you way more than me. I think that making a dedicated member list is something to reward those who have put so much into PG Airsoft. 5 games, from the time they get their own gear and gun, is proper. We have new members who have never missed a game. That is impressive. We have old members right from the start of the club who still participate and play (back when most games were not counted). Many of us have shelled out money from our own pockets to get Airsoft known in PG and let the club use their personal property to play on. I think that we have a dedicated core of players that make this club run. And, now, that we have that core we can start working on being competitive. Horton can upgrade your guns, and yeah, gun upgrades do change the game, eliminating some of those range issues and making people a bit more wary of being shot. When you can shoot at someone from across the Buster's field, it makes the game more believable. Though I like speedball and box-mags, there is a reason why I switched down to low/mid caps and limited ammo per round. In the end, what sets Airsoft apart from Paintball is realism. We all want MilSim, right? Lets all work together to get a dedicated core group of members who are fully geared, trained in movement, armed realistically, and enjoy the suspence over the speed. I for one call an end to highcaps!!!! -Doug | |

| Here's a proposal---Looking for anyones thoughts on this. They don't have to be as long as mine or Dougs.
-5 club games and an OK from senior club members as safe and trustworthy (member status given after gear and gun requirements met, games without gear and guns count towards your 5) -Quality and reliable main weapon (assualt, sniper, submachine etc) -matching issue or close replica gear set (pants, jacket and hat) -$5 fee for 1 badge, extra badges are $5 each after that
Thinking here is that someone like Jackboot who is a good player who is building up his gear collection doesn't have to attend another 5 games to get his status just because he didn't have the matching shirt and pants but does have the Molle vest. As soon as he gets his gear together he has status.
I didn't put training or boot camp in here because it does not exist yet but I would assume that it becomes a criteria later.

| loving the new avatar there Yuurie,
So it sounds fair that all club games count towards your 5 with our without gear but you can only cash them in when you get full gear?
Are there any newer folks to these boards that have thoughts?
EDIT-if most people agree then we will go ahead with welcoming members and start selling patches

| I like the idea that games without your own full gear still count. Otherwise I'd be stuck until I get some, and that ain't likely to be for a while. Aside from that, lemme read this over when I'm a tad more conscious. | |

| Here is a proposal to get thoughts going agian.
How do we show who members are? Do we withhold their rank from going beyond recruit until they fullfill the other requirements. Then once they are OKed and have the gear we update their ranking to what they actaully have?
Or make a little MEMBER signature bar that gets implanted by the mods
OR change the ranking above the avatars (will take hours)

| I think it should affect the rank. And are you going to create a section that only members can acsess and then squads? If so I think that would be a nice replacement for the restricted section and we could use that for private games. | |
