| Drache forgot Shaggy for NIA-Quesnel.
As for minimum games and patches...isnt that part of the old rank system? If not, what is the point of a us being "NIA", if we are not considered members?
Also, whats with the tiny rank tag for me?

| Aedomon you are partically right, it is part of our old system, but to be a member of the NIA you must meet the minimum requirements of 5 games, own your own AEG/spring Sniper... etc, and lastly buy a badge or two.
Yes is seems quite pointless of you guys being "NIA" but it forces you off the computer and to the games. Otherwise we get guys like Alpine or whatever his name is, spending around that he's part of the NIA and giving us a bad rap.
I know that example might be a bit harsh, but since we don't have a probationary period for new members this is one small step to beginning to screen and watch who we let in.
I hope you understand | |

| So having been given the option to host a MilSim as NIA Quesnel (while NIA-Q "members" are not actually "members") means we are still classified as new players? If there are no Quesnel Members, then why do we have a section in the forums? Its not like we are all complete noobs, we just have not played NIA games. Drache only missed a single game in Kamloops while he lived there. I played for years with .177 instead of 6mm. - Quote :

By the sounds of it, yes you do.

| This issue will be resolved as of tomorrow (I have 1 hour of sleep right now, I am in the Edmonton airport, and when I get home I will want to sleep).
I strongly stand by the 5 game basis. The games do not have to be NIA games (as seen with Mackenzie and Moberly/Chetwynd) but they do have to be Airsoft games. Having played lots with pellet guns prior to airsoft, there are some significant differences in game structure and safety.
As in Drache's case, he has prior verifiable (ASC) airsoft experience and is qualified as a member. Mind you, I also support the idea of patches, especially for unification purposes. There are some members who have the games but do not have the patches, this issue will be resolved.
Further discussion of this issue will take place. As the worries have been posted, Airsoft is a sport that is on very shaky ground and has zero tolerance for slip-ups. To protect our image to the national community and to keep the respect of the local community, we must uphold certain guidelines.
Either which way, this new rank system is still in the testing phase and the kinks will be ironed out soon, please bare with the current mess.

| What Daes said
We got rid of the ranks but we are still using the member system.
I would say we do have a probationary period, referring to the 5 game/own gear and gun/buy a patch system.
We have an NIA Quesnel section so that there can be a place for players in that area to meet up and for new folks to find like minded players. There is not one person in leadership there because we are waiting to see what happens down and how trustworthy, safe etc those players are.

I do not mean to sound negative, but that is assuming alot. The only differences between the .177 battles and the airsoft 6mm battles was the size of the BB, cost of gear and lack of fully automatic weapons. Proper protective gear was a must, minimum engagement distances had to be followed, fps caps were in effect, team structure and tactics were the same, and we had set objectives during sims. Hits had to be called, and could not be disputed. No blind shots were allowed. Yes, we had "speedball", but it was generally used only as a warm up, or if the turn-out was rather low.
