| Well, with the ever increasing numbers at games I would like to start the creation of squads. These are small binomes (well tri or quadnomes), that work and function under the same objectives. Though for most games, squads will not be used (open games are random teams), to more serious games of OPS and Sim, I would like to have people form squads. We have had squads like Team China or Heli-mountian boys and I would like everyone to have a chance to either join or create a squad so that people can hang with people of similar gear, weapons, or philosophy. The only rules here are that the squad name is appropriate and that the squad members are from the same team (as of right now, NIA or MIA). Example Squad:Squad FenrirDo you like grenade launchers, mortar's, and heavy fire power? This squad is aimed at fast assaults and powerful weapons. Our goal is taking the opposing forces out quickly and leaving as big of a mess behind as possible. We have no problem retreating with our tails between our legs (get it, Fenrir) if the situation is not in our favor. BUT, we always return with more guns, bigger guns, and tons more ammo. If leading the life of big guns, lots of guns, and one sided battles appeals to you, then this is the squad for you! REQUIREMENTSRecruiting 4 or 5 members. -You must have an upgraded AEG. -Have a TON of mags for that AEG -Side arms are optional -A working BDU is required, does not have to match (contractor look) -Try to work as a theme for whole squad BDU (recognition among squad) -Have more than one BDU for mixing or different OPs -An effective load-bearing device is a must!
Openings for: - (Chinese-Gunman) Alpha: Team captain. Must be effectively aggressive at leading the squad into combat situations but have enough brains to know when to retreat effectively. - Medic: One medic is needed to treat the fools who get shot. Look forward to being the one member on the team in which everyone else will take a bullet for. - (Daes) Grenadier: Two openings for a binome who will work together with heavy fire-power. This may mean partnering at carrying and firing a bazooka/RPG, or being responsible for carrying mission objective explosives. If no explosives are present, SAW support is recommended. - (Yuu) Dedicated Gunner: One opening for a member to play diverse roles that are mission dependent. Be this playing a dedicated marksman or using a SAW, this player will have to be flexible. This is the backbone of the squad. Perks of Joining the Squad-Get a new ranking symbol and custom Avatar -play with people who enjoy a similar style of play -work towards goals; gear, gun, and squad wise -get support from team members with you gun or gear problems -Win all of the time! (results not guaranteed)Well, you folks get the idea. Knock yourselves out. (and if anyone wants to actually join the Fenrir, let me know ) -Doug

WoooOO!). I think that once Nic's field starts up (what ever section he feels that is appropriate to play in), it being about 40km from PG and 140km from Mackenzie, it will provide a field that both teams can share and enjoy. I really look forward to at least a monthly game with the two teams (be it in PG, River, of Mackenzie). That is why I think that if we organize some strong squads now, people will have a chance to equipe similarly gear and gun wise (at least within the squad) and develope needed roles such as medic, dedicated marksman(woman), grenadier, SAW, etc. Post more information when it becomes available. It would be interesting to see exactly what everyone is using and what roles they most favor. I personally like the grenadier roles, medic being secondary. I am curious what other people favor? -Doug

| Stalker Squad - M.V.S.S.
Stalker squad is looking for recruits who favor a mix of direct/indirect combat such as sniping, or close range combat such as assassinations and ambushes. Typically, Stalker squad should consist of four members, however, there are currently no restrictions. In a standard four man squad, members are broken down as such: A commanding officer (or CO), two close range infantry soldiers (CRLI) and one sniper or long range engager (LRE). The team of four can be split into two mixed teams to increase effectiveness towards completion of objectives. Teamwork is emphasized and there should be a minimum of two people working together.
Tactics:
Stalker squad is a Multi-Vector Support Squad (M.V.S.S). The squads' purpose is to run interferance for primary assault teams and force the enemy into engaging on multiple fronts (to be more concise, the task of this squad is to harrass enemy troops, force them to waste ammo and reveal their positions to the primary assault force). Breaking the four man squad into two man fire teams can enhance the effectiveness of a multivector attack by forcing an opposing team to engage on TWO seperate fronts, creating an atmosphere of confusion and panic. One the M.V.S.S. engages with any opposing force, direct fire support from any primary assault group needs to immediately follow to ensure success of the attack.
Stalker Squad applicants are preferred to meet the following requirements but do not have to have them at this time:
-Working BDU - Contractors (non matching BDU) welcome! -Silenced weapon(s) -Armour for extended assaults -sidearms
Available positions: - x1 Commanding Officer (CO) - x1 Close range light infantry (CRLI) - x1 Sniper/long range engagement soldier (LRE)
Members: Mr. Buddley - CRLI
If you are interested in joining stalker squad, don't hesitate to PM me! All potentials welcome! Suggestions to improvement of squad parameters are also welcome!

-Doug hey doug...i like ur ideas..they're awesome...there's only a few things that i would change... firstly...each member of this squad must have a decent amount of mags cuz we need the firepower. Matching uniforms would be better cuz it would be easier to identify one another. A destructive and a bold nature are a must for this team. If i come up with anyother ideas..then i'll post some more..but i'm seriously considering joining this team...i like chaos

I have corrected the original to include more mags and an emphasis that BDU's play an important part of the squad. Out of question, any of the positions interest you especially? All positions are up for grabs (I am leaning towards grenadier, but will take any position really). -Doug

The Alpha role is more focused on leading than doing the artillery. I would gladly have you take the Alpha role due to your vast knowledge, abilities, and experience. Hopefully more people jump on the squad band-wagon over the next couple days. We are a little steep for requirements but that will translate to more efficient play -Doug

I am up for some restructing but these are to random for me. If we want to start squads/teams lets figure out what the best options are. These are play groups for OPs and Sims. A group of people that want to work together as a squad and function under a similar play, gear, or gun style. The goal of this is to make structured groups so when an OPs or Sim is played, the group is already prepared, gear, and trained. This allows for the organizers to say, ok, Squad Fenrir, you are on this side, with you is Squad Stalker, your objective is to get this objective from Squad Osama and Squad Burger. Since the squads work towards a style of play, they are able to function faster and with less confusion. Fenrir knows that Stalkers goal is support, thus they take the main assault with Stalkers flanking from the side. Burger and Osama are on the defence but burger is mainly an assault group, they go out to intercept the approaching squads. This makes it much easier for organizers to plan and design a game. Squads will work at improving and working towards their style. In the end, if NIA goes to a MilSim, they have players who work well together and have a diverse talant range throughout the different squads. Now, for the organizer, it is easy to do a game, just add Squad or no Squad rules. We have ammo, gear, real hit, real ammo, body armor rules, just put squads under the list and people will know what to do. It also puts some healthy competition between squads to see whos training and strategy is most successfull, also for competition days (shooting, squad movement, etc) the squads can show what they are made of. For training days, you have already made squads that can ask for specific training to the generic training. I think this offers an opportunity to create some common themes within the club and give members some pride on how well their squad is doing. But alas, this is all optional, if the organizer does not want squads that day, no harm, if yes, just put it in the rules. This gives something for non-members to look forward to. Squads can recruit and mentor non-members with the hopes of getting that person to become a member and join. Else, if I was a noob, I would get together with the other noobs and work towards creating a squad upon all becoming club members. Right now, this is a name basis, something that lets people have something unique, hopefully it will develop into a concrete foundation that will allow fast set-up for Sims and Ops. -Doug
